“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.  He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.  Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.” (1 Peter 1:18-21)

If we are looking for the one thing that gives us peace within and a true sense of security, we sometimes look for it in the wrong places.  So much of what the world tells us about being at peace and having security will misguide us and we end up feeling empty.  Temporary satisfaction needs to be replaced with the joy which God provides for us through knowing Jesus.  He made the ultimate sacrifice for us through his death on the cross yet rose again in order to give us his Spirit which gives us the true meaning of love we find in our God, whose love for us lasts forever.

Prayer: Dear Lord, when I consider the plans you have made for your creation and the love which sustains us, I can’t help but give you the thanks and praise which you most certainly deserve.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
