“‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.’” (Luke 20:17)

     Quoting from Psalms, Jesus describes in a parable of how he would be treated.  Jesus is the cornerstone of our faith, and as the Psalmist proclaimed, the cornerstone was rejected.  People have various reasons for rejecting Jesus, but pride seems to be an overriding factor.  Initially, we may feel that we don’t need God, but how true it is that we need him all the time, every day.  As we welcome Jesus into our lives, we know how important it is to depend on him.  There’s nothing wrong with depending on God; actually—there’s everything right about having Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

       For anyone who has rejected Jesus in the past, it’s not too late.  God loves you and welcomes you into his kingdom.  “Now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2)

Prayer: Dear Lord, we know of your love for your creation.  Be with those who still need you and give them the assurance of your everlasting love.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
