“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.  So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?  And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own?” (Luke 16:10-12)

Trust is the key issue in this teaching.  We must understand that all our resources belong to God.  To faithfully steward our resources, we must recognize not only that God gave us everything, but we are also accountable for all he has given us.  We can trust God, and as we follow him, we also become trustworthy.  It is such a good witness to the world when people know we can be trusted.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for all that you have given me.  Help me to be beyond reproach in all matters, as I want to be a good witness for you.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
