“The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.” (Luke 17:5-6)
It is noteworthy that the apostles asked the Lord to increase their faith; not the other way around. It is the Lord who takes whatever amount of faith we have, even if it seems to be as small as a mustard seed, and he works in our lives to increase it. When we see how God answers our prayers, this has a way of encouraging us to continue in prayer for all of our needs and to move forward in a very positive way. Our faith has a way of being time-tested, revealing how active God is in our lives.
Prayer: Dear Lord, you have been very faithful, and I have no reason to doubt that your faithfulness will continue. Thank you for always being there and responding to my prayers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
