“Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me.” (Luke 10:16)

The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is meant to be shared.  While some will willingly accept it, others will reject it.  It is not up to us to try and pressure people into accepting it.  God gives us free will.  If what we share is turned down, we shouldn’t take it personally.  People are not rejecting us; they are rejecting Christ.

Even when our message is rejected, many times a seed of faith is planted.  A person can look back at what we share, and it starts to make sense, because when you think about it, the gospel is something that should resonate with people.  Sooner or later, people see a need for the Lord.  We all need help in order for our sins to be forgiven and to walk in the ways of the Lord; we just need to be willing in the first place.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the good news we can share with the world.  Help me to realize that not everyone will accept it.  I pray for those who have accepted your message, and I also pray for those who have rejected it, asking that they may see the need to accept you as their Lord and Savior.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
