“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body.  When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness.  See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness.” (Luke 11:33-35)

As we live out our faith, it should be evident to everyone around us.  It was not meant to be concealed; something that we are ashamed of.  Instead, consider the positive results of others knowing that you are a child of God!  People need to know of the redeeming nature of our Lord, giving them a chance to acknowledge him as Lord and Savior.  Much of our love and compassion toward others is in helping them to have peace within and to know eternal security.  Consider what Jesus told his disciples in Matthew 9:37-38, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Prayer: Dear Lord, we do know that the harvest is plentiful.  Help us, in our own way, to express the zeal we have because of our faith in you, showing others the way to a lasting peace.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
