Good morning everyone,

“Whatever house you enter, stay there until you leave that town.  If people do not welcome you, leave their town and shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.”  So they set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere.” (Luke 9:4-6)

The disciples were asked to proclaim the good news, but if they were not welcome, they were told to “shake the dust off your feet” and move on.  Sharing the good news with others does not require us to possess the art of persuasion, or to be controlling or manipulating.  It does ask as to share the joy we have found in knowing Jesus and to plant a seed of faith in them regardless of whether or not they readily accept it.  This is why God gives us free will, and it’s probably better that way, because once we are ready to welcome the Lord into our lives, we are sincere in that commitment, and it’s likely to have a lasting effect on us.  God’s love for us lasts forever, and our love for him should also remain.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the straightforward message we can proclaim.  Keep us encouraged, because we know that some will accept you, but others will turn you down, but we will trust in you, and we will keep praying for them.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Blessings,

Pastor Dave
