“One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and one whose temper is controlled than one who captures a city.” (Proverbs 16:32)
Anger can have a negative influence. If we have the Holy Spirit of God, anger can be under control. Admittedly, there are times when something unexpected triggers this emotion, and it can catch me off guard. I end up regretting the times when anger gets the best of me, but the Lord teaches us the value of keeping our anger under control.
Whenever we have the foresight to look at things which upset us, we realize the futility and foolishness of letting anger get out of control. A Spirt-controlled anger allows us to seek a much better reaction to the things which upset us. Let’s look to the Lord for strength in all matters. God is in control, and he also helps us to be in control.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we are challenged with so many things that can upset us. Help us to rely on the fruit of the Spirit to guide us each day, helping us to make wise decisions. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
