“Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.” (Psalm 51:12)

     When we sin and stray from God, we know of the emptiness that is felt inside.  We remember the joy we felt in knowing the Lord, abiding in him, and obeying his commandments, and we want to have it back.  Our gracious and merciful God sees our repentant hearts, and he welcomes us back.  Thanks be to God! He loves us so much!

Prayer: Dear Lord, it is so good to know of your faithfulness toward us.  I truly regret the times when I have turned away from you, and am thankful because you welcome me back with open arms.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
