“In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.  For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness; with you, evil people are not welcome.” (Psalm 5:3-4)

There is a clear distinction between the goodness of God and the evil which exists in our world, and this evil is not going away any time soon.  Actually, it is not going to be eradicated until Jesus returns.  As believers in Christ, what can we do in the meantime?

There is plenty we can do.  We can focus on the goodness of God and allow that to rule our thoughts, words, and actions throughout the day.  We can be the voice of reason and of needed change when we see injustice and persecution.  We can give to the poor, those in need, and the needy are not hard to find; they are all around us.  Even though we all think differently on a number of issues, we can still love each other in the same way God loves us.  With God’s help, there is plenty we can do to brighten each of our days!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to identify with you in all that I do.  Thank you for the solid wisdom you bring to us in your word to guide us every day.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
