“We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6)

     Without someone guiding us, we can get lost, basically depending on our own thoughts; our own desires.  That doesn’t get us very far, but where it does get us is somewhere we probably don’t want to be.

     The good news is that we have the Good Shepherd to guide us.  Through his love and compassion, God sees that we need a gentle hand to guide us down the right path every day throughout our lives.  We may feel that we have the strong willpower to be upright and morally grounded, but the strongest among us are still too weak.  We need God’s Spirit and love within, which gives us the ability to recognize his grace, mercy, and forgiveness.  As forgiven sinners, we humbly seek help from the Lord above.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for helping me to recognize my weaknesses and giving me the will to depend on you.  Without you, I am lost, but with you, I have found all that I need.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
