“The good person out of the good treasure of the heart produces good, and the evil person out of evil treasure produces evil, for it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45)

     A principle from Jesus’ teachings is that true righteousness is a matter of the heart.  He tells us that we can typically tell people’s hearts by their actions.  As our desire for God and his word increase, we do good because of this desire.  We begin to see that there is no alternative when our hearts and minds are transformed, knowing that we are doing the right thing when we follow Jesus and strive to keep his commands.  Nothing can replace this God-given love and wisdom which truly enriches our lives.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being in my life and allowing me to walk beside you each day.  Your teachings show me the only way to achieve the perfect peace that you provide.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
