“This is the one about whom it is written: “‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’ I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” (Luke 7:27-28)

     Jesus had much praise for John the Baptist.  John served a unique role in God’s plan for salvation.  We can honor his place in redemptive history by pointing others to Jesus and living a life worthy of the gospel we’ve been entrusted to share.  May God be with us as we share this Good News.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for the great plans you had for John and for Jesus.  Now it is our turn to honor and glorify you.  Grant us strength and courage as we follow you.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
