“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8)
Jesus makes the strong assertion that depicts his return as bringing human history, as we know it, to its proper conclusion. No one else can rightfully stake this claim, but anyone who tries to say this—they either have been or will be proven wrong. Jesus is the only one!
This can and should affect the way we live right now. We can have confidence in our Lord, knowing that he always follows through on his promises. God is here through all the generations of human history. As for us, we are part of a purpose that is bigger than us individually, and that purpose will not fail. When we invite Jesus into our lives, we can erase any fear of the future, because our future is in his hands.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we know that your redeeming love is there for us. Thank you for seeking us out and graciously accepting us into your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
