“Now it was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles.  But these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them.” (Luke 24:10-11)

Even the apostles did not believe the women who told them about the empty tomb and of how the men who spoke to them reminded them that Jesus would rise again on the third day.

The empty tomb and the many eyewitnesses to the resurrected Jesus were two primary sources of proof for the resurrection in the early church.  And we must consider the differences the resurrection has made for those who believe.  Our sins can be forgiven, the power of a new life is with us, we have victory over death, and we will not be disappointed because we know that God keeps his promises.

Knowing all of this, we have the opportunity to choose a new life in Christ.  Let’s go for it!  We have today, tomorrow and forever to know the joy of salvation and the assurance of eternal life.

Prayer: Dear Lord, you have kept all of your promises, and we believe and accept this new life you offer to us.  Now, we can walk with you each day and experience the love you have for us.  Thank you for forgiving our sins and giving us great hope for today and the future.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
