“Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)

     As God’s creation, we are here because God loves us, and we, in turn, are asked to love the Lord with everything we’ve got.  Everything good comes from God, and while we can’t repay him, we can love him and love our neighbor.  When this happens, God’s love extends beyond us; it affects everyone we know, and gives them a chance to experience God’s love and redeeming grace.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for loving me and giving me the gift of life.  Help me to acknowledge you every day through my words and actions.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
