“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
“Another Day” is a song written and sung by Paul and Linda McCartney. It describes a mundane life, meaningless with not much to look forward to. Not the happiest of songs, but it could be a reality with some people.
Our Creator made it so that it doesn’t have to be this way. We can consider each day a new adventure and a new beginning with much to look forward to. God has plans for each one of us. Jeremiah heard these words: “search for me, you will find me.”
It is quite worthwhile for us to make the effort to pray. Consider starting the day with the psalmist’s attitude, “I lift up my eyes to the hills—from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1)
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for giving me great hope for each day. You help me to not just cope and not just maintain, but to thrive because of the joy you give, helping to work out the plans you have for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
