“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (Galatians 6:9)
As believers in Christ, doing good becomes an inherent part of our nature. It’s not something we have to do, but we want to do, because God has given us a new heart that wants to reach out to people with love.
It is also true that we can get discouraged when doing good does not seem to produce results. We reach out to those who are without Christ, yet they don’t seem to get the message. They don’t seem to relate to how God can fill a huge void in their life. But let’s not forget that we have planted a seed in their life, and it may take a long time for them to realize what we have been telling them through our words and actions.
Jesus didn’t pressure people to follow him; they followed out of their own free will. When we know of those who reject the message of the gospel, we can continue to pray for them and love them. We can pray that one day they will fully accept God’s love and allow it to rule in their lives.
Prayer: Dear Lord, we pray for those who are missing out. We know that you seek them out and we ask for their eyes to be opened to the truth, something that is much more rewarding when they accept a new way of life, trusting in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
