“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.” (Revelation 4:8)

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” (Revelation 4:11)

We can all think about the times when we have experienced the good things of this earth--the wonder and beauty of nature, the awesome sounds of music, or the warmth and love of family and friends.  I am glad about these experiences, because they give us a break from the dark side of humanity, which we see and sometimes experience too much and too often.

Revelation chapter 4 is all about worship, and this is where we are talking about a worship service in heaven.  It’s a never-ending worship, so while we are still around here on earth, we ought to get used to the idea of worship.  Having knowledge of the bad news of this world is unavoidable, but let’s not forget that there’s much to be thankful for and to find reasons to give praise to God.  Start the practice of worship now, every day.  When we do, it won’t be too much of a culture shock when we get to heaven!

Prayer: Dear Lord, we do praise you for your holiness and we acknowledge you as the one who is worthy.  Thank you for giving us this new life, loving you and loving one another.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
