“All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.” (Luke 10:22-24)
Jesus describes the close relationship his followers have with him and the Father. He chose to reveal himself to his followers, and this truth remains with us today. He chose us, and what a great blessing it is to know Jesus the way we do!
We can thrive on the joy we feel in knowing Jesus. The more we recognize this inwardly and outwardly, the more inclined we are to let others know of this joy. Let’s allow this joy to spread; let it be “contagious,” showing the world that our way of life does not consist of a bunch of negative doom and gloom. Instead, our lives reflect the love that God has for us, which cannot be denied.
Prayer: Dear Lord, you told us, “let your light shine before others.” Help us every day to shine that light, giving the world this much-needed hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
