In Revelation 5, Jesus has 2 different names—a Lion and a Lamb.  Vs. 5 says, “the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.” Being described as a Lion projects a source of great strength.  But at the same time, we are given a gentler description of Jesus in vs. 12, “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

Jesus, the Lamb of God, willfully gave himself up on the cross for us.  And Jesus remains the source of strength for all of us.  We are weak, but he is strong, and he gives us strength to overcome the world.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being our source of strength, never forsaking us and always loving us.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
